Online Marketing for the Dental Business

Dental marketing consisted of advertisements in local publications like the newspapers, and banners at the ball parks.

Dental marketing consisted of advertisements in local publications like the newspapers, and banners at the ball parks. Some dental marketing was done on television and on radio programs that aired within a one hundred mile radius of the office location. Today dental marketing is still done in all of those ways and it is also done online.

The ability to advertise online has opened up the possibility for the dentist to not only have an advertisement, but for them to be able to show people more of what they do. In phone directories and local papers the amount of content that the advertisement could have was very limited. The dentist had to pay by the line for these ads and they could quickly become expensive. Online the dentist has a website that can have multiple pages, videos, sound, pictures, articles, and even a virtual tour of the facilities.

Once a website is established, the marketing strategies should include pictures of every member of the staff. Beside the picture of the staff the dentist should include some information about that person. The job the person does, such as teeth cleaning, receptionist, and that sort of thing should be mentioned by the staff member's picture.

There should also be a map of driving directions included on one of the web pages. All phone numbers and email addresses that can be used to reach the dentist should be included on one of the pages.

The page should be devoted to the dentist and their educational background. A list of places they have practiced and things like this are also interesting to potential patients. The about me page should include what type of dentistry the doctor specializes in.

Before and after photos are an excellent ways to demonstrate to people the drastic changes that a simple procedure can have on your appearance. You should include video and written testimonials from actual patients telling you how much they like the office and why. Be sure that you have the written permission of any patient that you place a picture of online.

You can include instructions on how long a person is supposed to brush their teeth and how frequently they are supposed to see their dentist for checkups. Having a page that is dedicated to naming the teeth, and showing the approximate age that a child will be when they get these teeth, will be interesting if your office does pediatric visits.
